Who it is for
- You drink lattes or cappuccinos often and want a simpler milk routine.
- You have a small kitchen and want a narrow machine.
- You are comfortable adding a grinder to your budget.
Who should skip it
- You want grinding and espresso in one machine. Look at all-in-one machines instead.
- You want to practice manual steaming and latte art. The manual-steam Bambino drops the automatic wand.
- You prefer a 58 mm portafilter, which many enthusiast accessories use.
What comes in the box
Breville lists a 54 mm tamper, a Razor precision dosing tool, a 16 fl oz stainless steel milk jug, 1-cup and 2-cup single wall and dual wall filter baskets, a cleaning tool and a cleaning disc.
What you still need to buy
The Bambino Plus does not grind coffee. You need a grinder that can produce a fine, adjustable espresso grind. A scale and fresh beans help too. Price the whole setup before you decide.
Limitations
- Automatic milk texturing does not automate the espresso side. You still grind, dose, tamp and start the shot.
- Different milks and milk alternatives texture differently, and Breville’s own instructions say you may need to adjust the foam level.
- We have not tested this machine. We have not seen enough comparable independent testing to rate shot quality or milk consistency, so we do not.
Care and warranty
The box includes a cleaning tool and cleaning disc, and the instruction book covers cleaning and descaling. Breville’s US product page lists a 2-year limited warranty for the Bambino Plus. Check Breville for the full terms.
