Best Espresso Machines Around $500

Research-Based Guide. We have not tested these products ourselves. This page summarizes manufacturer pages and manuals and says so where a fact is missing. Prices change often, so we group machines by the price range we saw on Amazon on November 2, 2026, not by a fixed price. Check the current listing before you buy.

Around $500 you can choose between three different kinds of machine. The Breville Bambino Plus automates milk. The Gaggia Classic E24 is a traditional 58 mm machine. The Breville Barista Express has a grinder built in. The right one depends on how you drink coffee and whether you already own a grinder.

Where the prices sat

On November 2, 2026 the Bambino Plus and Barista Express were both listed at about $500 and the Gaggia was listed in the mid-$400s. They sit close to the line, so check the live price. The Ninja Luxe Cafe Premier was listed around $600 and is outside this range.

Choose by how you will use it

  • Mostly lattes, little time: the Bambino Plus.
  • Learning manual espresso, happy to buy a grinder: the Gaggia Classic E24.
  • One machine that grinds and brews: the Barista Express.

Machine-only versus full setup

The Bambino Plus and the Gaggia do not include a grinder, so their real cost is the machine plus a grinder. The Barista Express includes one but you cannot upgrade it separately. Compare complete setups. Our reviews cover each: Bambino Plus, Gaggia Classic E24 and Barista Express.
