The Fellow Opus 2 is an electric conical burr grinder that Fellow positions for everything from espresso to cold brew. It suits people who want one grinder for espresso and filter coffee. Look elsewhere if you want a grinder built only around espresso, with timed dosing.

Opus versus Opus 2
Fellow now sells the Opus 2, and the older Opus (40 mm burrs) is listed separately on Fellow’s warranty page. If a listing says only Opus, check which model it is before you buy. This review covers the Opus 2.
Who it is for
- You make espresso and also pour-over or other methods.
- You want a grinder with fine, stepless adjustment.
- You want a grinder with a published two-year warranty.
Who should skip it
- You want an espresso-only grinder with timer dosing. The Baratza Sette 270, for example, lists timer-based dosing.
- You want a grinder rated by independent espresso testing. We have not found enough comparable testing to judge the Opus 2 on retention or shot-to-shot consistency, so we do not.
Compatibility
Check how the grinder delivers grounds to your portafilter and whether you need an adapter. Fellow’s gear guide and included-items page explain what ships in the box.
Warranty details
Fellow’s warranty page lists the Opus 2 under its new generation of electric products with a two-year standard period. Coverage requires the original buyer, a purchase from Fellow or an authorized retailer, use in the US, US territories or Canada, and the original receipt.
